All things have a yin and yang aspect. For the majority of humans, we are operating mostly in the yang: active, light, warming energy. In Yin Yoga, we work with the meridians in Chinese Medicine to balance the Yang energy and hold static, passive stretches to target and hydrate the connective tissue, or fascia.
Expect a relaxing, introspective practice aimed to nourish your body, mind and spirit for the spring season. In Chinese Medicine, spring is governed by the element, wood. Like wood, we will find the balance of strength and flexibility to carry us through this time of growth.
It is recommended to practice in a dark room with layers as you may get chilly as we slow down the body. You will need: one blanket, block and a bolster (or 2 bed pillows).
